Axel Knauz moved from Germany at the age of three with his parents and brother. Edwin, his father, was asked by family to help in repairing vehicles at the new Mercedes Benz facility in Lake Forest Illinois. Over the years, Axel grew up and started at the dealership as a car porter. Twenty years later, after proving his repair skills and becoming a Mercedes-Benz factory trained master technician, he was promoted to Service Manager and eventually Service Director over all car lines. After 30 years at the family dealership, Axel decided to open his own auto repair shop. Axel, along with his father, Edwin, and his son, Nick, opened Axels Automotive on August 1, 2006, combining over 80 years of automotive experience. Axels Automotive has grown with the most up-to-date automotive repair equipment and aims for customer satisfaction. Axels Automotive is here to keep your car smiling.
